One thing I have learned is to look honestly at the way things are. When I started this blogging gig, I had no idea where I was headed, how long I would do this. As I have continued to write, I believe I have offered value to my readers. In fact, I — obviously — am not in this for fame or money. It seems I cannot crack the 1,000 followers barrier in IG or FB, let alone Twitter. I haven’t tried, but as I kept posting, the numbers grew — almost a thousand on both. My focus has been my writing.
And I have improved — at least in my estimation. I have enjoyed the range of topics, the depth I have explored, and the quality of writing. I have learned that I can produce during stressful times, party times, even when I was WUI — writing under the influence! It has been 523 days as of tonight, and I’m calling it a wrap for this phase of my work.
Oh, I will definitely still be posting on social media. I will blog occasionally, but it will be a new season, just like with the big vloggers. The fact is we are preparing to take a little trip, and even though I love this work, I only have so much time. Not to mention energy. I have basically run myself to the point of exhaustion, and I need the break to step back, evaluate, and determine how I will proceed.
One of the things I will be doing is putting in much more time on publishing my works for distribution. I need to work on my website — I don’t even have an email list or capture page. I hope you have valued some of my work enough to respond to that when I offer it!
I am creating several nonfiction books from topics I have explored and written about in this blog. I am about to embark on serious, extensive work on my novel, too, including finishing the rewrite of the first and re-constructing the second, which I lost the 50,000 + words to when my computer was infected with malware.
All this to say that this will be the last daily blog for a bit. A week or two? I’m not sure, but I will certainly let you know via the social media platforms.
I hope you know, really, deeply, sincerely hope you know, how much I value you. I haven’t invested this time, haven’t learned and applied the lessons for myself only. In fact, I could have done thousands of other things besides this if I were the only one involved. My Mission, my Heart-energized Mission, is to not only continue discovering life and magic for myself but also helping you to discover Self and create Purpose. I hope by exploring such broad swaths of life through my metaphysical lens, you have heard your Heart speak to you about these ideas and that you see yourSelf in relation to it all.
So, blessings. Please know that even though I won’t be writing that word every single night for awhile, I will still be doing that, seeking your blessing!
