I have written about the Superhero identity and power we each possess. We each embody a Heart-identity, core Self, and we have the ability to create our own Purpose, our own path, when we choose a superpower and wield it.
To exist as a Superhero with our own Superpower and to choose how we will use it answers the two big questions of life: 1. Who am I? 2. Why am I here? This brings up a third question, almost as basic because of our nature and origins: Why are WEhere? “No man is an island, entire of itself,” said John Donne in the 17th century. We live in interconnectedness with one another — relationships. Academicians study life in relatively neat little boxes; however, we never experience life in such a way. The progression and relationship of an individual to self, family, neighborhood, community, and society flows, meshes, amalgamates into each one’s experience, i.e., we live in a continuum of relationships. Fulfilling, significant, substantial, enduring ones all begin with knowing Self, knowing the reality of who and what we are — carriers of eternal Spirit, part and parcel of Spirit, embodied in us as Heart and imbued with our unique thought patterns, personalities, abilities, and everything else that we are. When we realize this wonderful, mystical creature we are, we know we have a purpose and we get to choose it — not wait for someone else to secretly and incrementally reveal it to us. And we seek happiness and freedom to live this Self and Purpose. None of it is complete without you or me, without us relating to one another. We engage in Purpose because we wish to express love — if we have known Self. And as those expressions of love bring us into contact with one another, we form a society. When so many individuals with unique thoughts, abilities, and interests engage, differences occur. And differences cause tension, tension spurs conflict, and conflict can proceed in a number of ways. That’s when social issues develop. They develop around important, significant, profound topics: environmental concerns, inequalities, injustices, racism. They wrap around to opinions on politics, government, and politicians. In contemporary America, the sharp political divisions affect and are part of society. I have shared my opinions on issues in the past, especially in such areas as the environment, rights of Native Americans, and racism. I will do so again. However, tonight I will end this short post with a generalization. The degree of engagement and the response each one takes, actions and reactions to issues, and the opinions we develop and share should be based on one thing and one thing only: personal truth that is an organic result of who we are and what we have created as our Purpose. As I began this, if one has awakened to this Self, the basis of the whole movement is Love. Therefore, any actions of awakened souls, any opinions, any reactions, any activism of any degree should be based on love — not fear, hatred, or conformity to the opinions of others — individuals, groups, or political parties. And for tonight, that is sufficient. Now, as ever, we are in need of Love, especially love of Self which ushers us into the ability to function meaningfully in society. Some day, hopefully soon, Heart-energy of love will be the prevailing force. It is not so now. Those who operate from love will disagree, but they will desire the same end of securing those “certain unalienable rights” that include but are not limited to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” That is the energy of the blessing I send out this late night. We need the Superheroes in each of us to use their powers based on the Superhero motives of love and peace!

Questions to consider:How many times have you asked yourself or simply thought about the following questions?
Who am I, really? What is my truth? How do my actions reveal what I really feel and believe? What would I do with my life if I could do anything? What is my passion? Why am I here? How can I discover answers to any of these questions? If you have considered any of these questions, I hope that my experiences and writing will give you some guidance. Please read my blog and comment and share your thoughts. I would love to hear from you! Archives
